Hi! Welcome to Human Sea. Thank you so much for visiting.
I am a twenty-six year old living with my partner Jian Wei in South East London. I recently graduated from my MA in English Literature at King’s College London and am now focusing on developing a career which combines my love of both writing and fashion. Every spare moment I have I use to rummage through charity shops and jumble sales in constant pursuit of vintage clothing and homewares for myself and for my Etsy shop, Human Sea Vintage. My favourite moment in fashion history is the early 1960s, the midcentury aesthetic of that era chimes perfectly with my own sensibilities and I will forever look to Anna Karina, Jane Birkin, Francoise Hardy, Jean Shrimpton and Brigitte Bardot for sartorial inspiration.
When not shopping or wearing vintage clothing, I am most taken with high end brands and unusual design. I would much rather save my pennies for something really special in wool, silk or leather from a premium brand than on polyester fast-fashion from the high street. For this reason, I always endeavour to avoid waste and to buy shoes and bags that can be repaired and clothes of natural fabrics that I can wear and mend for many years to come.
Besides writing my blog and selling vintage clothing, I enjoy cycling around London on one of my (two) vintage bicycles, photography, cooking, sewing, reading, travel and being a house mouse in my rented Victorian flat.
