A Day at the Victoria and Albert Museum

The Victoria and Albert Museum is the perfect place to spent a dark January day. I love the way it feels as though it has barely changed since it opened at the South Kensington site in 1857. Huge rooms are packed with all manner of objects that range from the exquisite to the grotesque and the beautiful to the borderline frightening. I can't wait to go back again.

I am wearing a vintage 1950s coat from Etsy, a velvet bow tie I found in a charity shop and turned into a hair slide, a 1950s brown day dress which will get a proper airing when the weather perks up, cream Mary Janes from New Look and cinnamon tights from Topshop. Everything I am wearing I have had for two years or more. At the end of January I will have paid the final instalment of my MA fees which will leave me with a couple more pennies each month for new additions to my wardrobe. In the meantime I will have to learn to be content with my old (old) threads!

  5. I've spent many hours in the V&A's cast courts, it's my favourite part of the whole museum so I'm so glad to see you took some photos there! Your coat is gorgeous, I have a similar one but it's not half as nice. And I'm very jealous you're close to paying off your MA - I've still got ££k to go on mine...! x

  11. The colors in your outfit seem to mimic perfectly that of the museum. I love the sage 50s coat and the burnt red hair bow. It looks like a lovely day, indeed.
