Loafers: Vintage, Charity Shop
Dress: Retro Rehab, Manchester
Retro Rehab is a really decent little vintage shop in the Northern Quarter in Manchester. It's very boutiquey and all the items smell luscious and are in immaculate condition. There's no real need for rummaging here as the stock is minimal and high quality. The staff are smiley and enthusiastic about the delightful dresses, how could they not be (!), and it feels great to support an independent business with such a passion for the joy of dress-up. I bought this dress on a grizzly wet Mancunian day last winter and have only worn it once before, to a house party. At £24 it really deserves to be worn more and so I am going to have to make more of an effort. Incidentally, it's really the perfect outfit for the scizophrenic English summers with its long sleeves and thick fabric, plus it takes a millisecond to complete the outfit with no expense of aplomb!
