(Oh, when will eBay post me a Peter Pan collar dress that actually covers my arse??)
First and foremost, I am head over heels in lust with these iridescent shoes! (Excuse the link - the Topshop website won't allow the usual 'save picture as' malarkey.) As if magenta wasn't good enough, they also come in black. Oh! ♥_♥
Secondly, I've suddenly got a real urge for a simple, high-waisted black leather skirt. I've spotted a nice one on the Zara website which is surprisingly chic with no evocations of trench-coated perverts clutching opaque carrier bags. I imagine myself tucking a crisp, white Peter Pan collar blouse (which I also don't have) into one, some day in the distant future...
Thirdly, a pair of soft brown Oxford slacks with a high waist and turned-up peg legs, because let's be honest, the chic is ALL about the geek. I recently found an absolutely perfect pair in the Topshop sale but, alas, they were all in sizes too large. I haven't been able to track down an appropriate pair since as the style I'm looking for are the antithesis of the Harem Pant and need to channel Literary Chic by being teamed with leather brogues and granny knits. Hmmmpf. So, if you come across anything along these lines, let me know!
I've had a strange affinity towards these boots by plush Danish company Noa Noa since I first clapped eyes on them during my sister's hen 'do' punting in sunny Cambridge. They're not the sort of thing I usually go for, elderly-librarian-meets-charity-shop-volunteer, but I can't stop myself thinking about them. With their 'tough' look and multitudinous eyelets they seem excitingly fresh and I imagine myself teaming them with thick tights and a whimsical white cotton or lace dress. (Which I don't quite yet have either...)
I would also like some 'tough' heels, black leather preferably with golden zips! However, in light of my nearly-maxed-out overdraft I am coming to terms with the reality of never being able to buy an item of clothing again. I weep with the injustice of it all.
